for ladies and all their friends |
Ladyfriend Zine is a small-press publication that celebrates female friendship. As the subtitle implies, this doesn't mean you have to be a lady yourself to enjoy the content or contribute articles, you just have to be friends with a few. Whether you're looking advice on how to cut your own hair, comics about babysitters gone bad, stories about adventures on public transportation, or tales of inspiring aunts, Ladyfriend's got something for you. Browse the Ladyfriend site for sample articles and essays, ordering information, and links to other great projects. There are nine issues of Ladyfriend out now, with a tenth on the way this winter. If you like what you see, order a copy and we'll have it delivered straight to your door. Interested in contributing to the next issue? Ladyfriend publishes articles, essays, interviews, artwork and reviews. Send us your stuff! What's inside? Here's info on all of our available issues: Issue #10 is the thickest issue yet, celebrating six years of publishing by focusing on the complexity of female friendships in 64 pages of pure xeroxed love. Inside you'll find tales of wasp-tree symbiosis, church-pew note-passing, battling bandmates, and Ghanaian superheroines! Plus free postcards to get back in touch with a long lost ladyfriend, and plenty more. Issue #9 is our magnificent Male issue, with stories by and about feminist fellas, girls inspired by grandfathers, and drag king drama. Read up on raising a son, digital dating, changing male beauty standards, and tons of other awesome stuff! Issue #8 is the Health issue, featuring all sorts of stories about midwifery, dog attacks, growing up with doctors for parents, and more. Plus comix about brain worms and yeast infections, a self-hypnosis how-to, creepy medical tourist attractions across America, and a cure for artist's block! If you know what's good for you, you'll order your copy today, before we run out. Issue #7 is the smooshy gooshy Cute issue. And it totally rules, if we do say so ourselves.
